Avue Exit E-Interview and Climate Survey
July 16, 2008
For Avue Clients, your Avue subscription fully supports surveys that are important to the management of human capital in the Federal Sector. The most common survey, and one known to be of interest to GAO Auditors and others, is the Exit Survey. The Avue Exit Survey, or Exit E-Interview, is a set of questions for departing employees that can be triggered by a separation action, or by an HR Specialist, Manager or Administrative Officer who knows of an impending departure.
The survey is emailed to the exiting employee as a “Message from the Director of Human Resources” or other appropriate title. The message acknowledges the employee’s service to the organization and requests additional information to assist the agency in addressing causes of unacceptable levels of turnover, pinpointing organizational issues that may be negatively affecting the ability of an organization to achieve its strategic goals and objectives, and providing baseline data to assess improvement, over time.
Avue’s Exit E-Interview gathers the information Senior Managers and auditors want to know if you know about your organization including departing employees’ perceptions of Leadership, Training Opportunities, Quality of the Workforce, Pay, etc. In addition to the core questions, you can add questions targeted to issues of particular interest to your agency.
Avue’s Online Exit Interview is fully supported with regular and ad hoc reporting capability. Next time you have to report to GAO, OPM or Top Management, be armed and ready with current and fully reportable results of a quality Exit E-Interview.
Avue also offers the Annual Assessment Survey, which has also been called the Climate Survey. This survey meets all the requirements of Section 1128 of the National Defense Authorization Act for FY 2004 (PL 108-136, 5 U.S.C.7101), which requires agencies to report annually on Leadership and management practices and Employee Satisfaction.
OPM offers to conduct this survey for you in the years they do not do the Federal Human Capital Survey (the FHCS is conducted in even-numbered years), but here are a few reasons you’ll want to use Avue for your Annual Assessment Survey:
• The Avue survey complies with the requirements of PL 108-136 and includes all the questions OPM has prescribed, plus some additional ones to give you insightful information into your organization.
• OPM recommends using a contractor to conduct, analyze and produce reports for your survey if you don’t have in-house capability (or don’t want to use your valuable resources).
• Avue will administer, and give results down to component level (OPM will provide overall agency results only).
• Avue will develop interface to post on your website (OPM leaves that to you).
• Avue will allow agency-specific questions (If you join with OPM – no agency-specific questions).
• Avue will work with you on sample selection, analyze your results, and prepare reports for you.
