In the relatively small circle of federal chief information officers (CIOs), Ira Hobbs certainly made his mark in his 20 + year career in federal IT. Recently retired from service, Ira previously served as CIO for the U.S. Department of Treasury and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. During his federal tenure, Mr. Hobbs served as co-chair of the Federal CIO Council's Workforce Committee whose goal was to improve the recruitment, retention, and skills of the Federal Government's IT workforce. He is widely credited by as having had a major influence on the government's technology workforce and its efforts to recruit and retain top talent.
