Federal Agencies Facing Retirement ‘Tsunami’ to Benefit from Avue-GRB Partnership
Retirement and Benefits Management Tools Selected as Preferred Federal HR Service by GSA
January 11, 2008
Washington, DC – Avue Technologies – the premier private sector human resources shared service center (SSC) for the Federal Government – and Government Retirement and Benefits, Inc. (GRB) -- the foremost expert and technology pioneer in federal benefits administration – have teamed up to offer a superior workforce management service that has been selected for the government’s Human Resources Line of Business (HR LOB). The General Services Administration (GSA) made the award to Avue, which operates the online system, in late December 2007.
“If predictions of a federal retirement tsunami come true, agency HR managers may soon be overwhelmed with benefits and retirement issues. GSA has recognized the value of our fully automated service offering, which significantly streamlines the HR management process,” said Linda Rix, Co-CEO of Avue. “GRB is the foremost expert in federal benefits administration, and we could think of no better partner to enhance the Avue shared service platform.”
The Avue system is designed to address all aspects of public sector human capital management, and GRB delivers a complete range of Federal employee benefits services including retirement counseling and processing, training, and benefits modeling and transaction systems. The two companies’ formed a partnership in early 2007 to build upon their respective HR management strengths. The GRB partnership allowed Avue to enhance its service offerings and provide coverage of benefits and retirement.
“Like Avue, we strive to meet and exceed the expectations of federal HR professionals,” said Peter Lynn, COO of GRB. “We have worked for years to make our benefits and retirement services the best in the business, and the Avue HR platform was the perfect fit for what we have to offer.”
Avue was chosen for HR LOB following a rigorous selection process. After submitting an application in September, Avue was chosen as one of the “selected offerors” in October, after which it made a formal presentation to demonstrate its capabilities for processing personnel and managing payroll, time and attendance. The HR LOB initiative was launched to create government-wide, modern, cost effective, standardized, and interoperable human resource solutions that provide common core functionality to support the strategic management of federal human capital.
In addition to GRB, Avue has partnered with Ceridian, SRA International, Inc., and Workbrain™ to develop various offerings for the state-of-the-art Avue HR management platform.
“By partnering with GRB and other HR specialists, Avue is able to provide federal agencies with a wide array of automated HR management tools that better enable them to effectively manage their organizations,” concluded Rix.
