National Association Names Business Woman of the Year

Kansas City, Mo. – The American Business Women's Association has named Doris Brown of Port Washington, Md. the 2010 American Business Woman of ABWA. Named one of the "Top Ten Business Women of ABWA" in September, Doris was then chosen to represent all working women as ABWA's business woman of the year.

Doris is the Director, Affiliate Relations and Services for Avue Technologies Corporation, a company that provides public sector management solutions for all aspects of human capital management. Doris has been a member of the Oxon Hill Charter Chapter of ABWA for more than 15 years.

Founded in 1949 by Hilary A. Bufton Jr., a Kansas City, Mo., businessman, ABWA is a 35,000 member strong association with chapters and Express Networks nationwide. The organization provides business training and networking opportunities for women of diverse occupations and backgrounds. The "Top Ten Business Women of ABWA" is a national program to honor outstanding members of ABWA for achieving excellence in their careers, in education and through community involvement.
